Etsy Model of the Week

Oh.... how I wish I could pull of bangs like this! This weeks model comes from one of the most beautiful dress shops on Etsy.  Makool.   Her subtle make up really helps play off the romantic, damsel and distress look.  I love the contrast of her skin and how it glows, totally a vampire. (please excuse all my twilight references, Im in the middle of the 3rd book and it is all i can think about. Has any one else read the saga?)

Being stuck indoors for 9 hours sraight gets the mind yearning for better things. Like the sun, is there anything better than the San Diego sun? No. Unfortunately I most likely will not see the sun all day... until we meet again.

Oh Comic Con

Comic Con, the yearly comic book, SyFy, Star Trek and pop culture convention was here in San Diego!  Here is my excuse for the lack of posting....I'm sure you have heard of it... Twilight.  

The entire cast of Twilight and now New Moon was here for a panel! And..... I saw all of them!  Did I mention Taylor Lautner (Jacob) said hello?

I used to not be a fan of gold, but over the past year the more the better! So, I went searching on Etsy for some jewelry and I discovered, oh. hello friend. I absolutely love the sweet little charms.  

Etsy Model of the Week/ Leanne Marshall

This "model of the week" is special because not only do I admire the model but I greatly admire the designer.  I am so happy that Project Runway winner/ FIDM grad Leanne Marshall has put some of her new designers in her Etsy shop.  Leanne had her Etsy shop before her Runway days.  

I really love the pose and overall demeanor of this model.  Even though she is sitting among a pile of newspapers she still has a very romantic look.  And.... I would really love to have that wedding dress, the neckline is really sweet.

I'm loving the exposed zipper in the front and the pleating down the sides.  Exposed zippers are gonna be big this fall!

P.S.  I was lucky enough to see Leanne Marshall's winning Project Runway collection at the FIDM (fashion institute of design and merchandising) debut fashion show.  The collection was even more amazing in person.  The architectural details are really fantastic.  Here are some of my pics. (they were the best i could do for the seats that i had)

I'm sure some of you saw the wedding dress of this collection, it is my dream dress.  I was too busy sitting with my mouth wide open then taking pics of it.  

This season of Project Runway starts on August 20th on Lifetime.  Not only is there a network change but this season was filmed at FIDM LA.  Yay for FIDM

K & K.

K & K is a new post that is not related to Etsy, however  K & K are my most stylish friends.  Yes, I go to a fashion school and I get great inspiration by all the amazing outfits that I see, but no one gives me as much inspiration as K & K.  

Now, some background, we are high school friends from a small town where Balenciaga and American Eagle are comparable, and the "it" accessory is a monogrammed Dooney and Burke hand bag which everyone and their mom had...except us.  Anytime the 3 of us got together all we could talk about was fashion, which turned into friendship.  

So, this post is a tiny interview with K (the brunette). 

If you could pick something splurge on right now what would it be?

Ill go with what I recently have wanted which is a really great bra. i know that sounds weird but lately i have come to realize how important they are. Like if you have boobs (i do) you need a diverse set of bras to accomodate any sort of shirt/dress. so if i could splurge on a bra that would work out when i just wear a t-shirt or when im all dressed up, my life would be a little more complete. 

If you could choose a piece of clothing that what you currently own to have for the rest of your life it would be...

my jean shorts that i cut myself because they are irreplaceable and the thought of losing them right now would make me really sad! now i just thought of a million things i have that i really love! hard question

Etsy Model of the Week

Etsy is often used as a search engine for innovative designers and handmade goodies. Although I think it could also be used as a search engine for amazing models. Whether they are professional models,friends of the designers, or the designers themselves, the models pull a lot of weight when it comes to the product.  

Todays model comes from lingerie designer, Hopeless. I love the girl next door look of the first photo, and the more sultry look of the second.  The models bright skin tone looks great against the bright Willow Camisole.  Make sure to visit Hopeless for other amazing handmade goodies, and be sure to pay close attention to the model.
