Today, I spent some great time with my mother in our local knitting store, which could easily be considered her second home.  She is a wonderfully talented knitter, and the maker of some of my absolute favorite pieces in my wardrobe including leg warmers, scarves and a cross bones sweater for my dog Bear of course. Although she knits every row with love, sometimes it's hard not to stray to other designers.  But, hey, that's what Etsy's for right?

Winter Whites

There is something so refreshing about wearing white during the winter.  It's such a bright color and has great contrast against grey winter skies.  The brighter the better!  Here are a few winter whites I have my eye on from Three Little Ducks.

Etsy Model of the Week.

It's been a while since I have posted an Etsy Model of the Week, which is strange because it is one of my favorite things.  I guess I can be picky when it comes to who I choose... Looks aren't a huge factor, it's more the setting, props, clothes, accessories and over photograph which makes me stop and say wow!  I found this weeks post via the Style Me Etsy facebook page.  It's been absolutely freezing in New York and even though I know colder weather has yet to come, I 'm already ready for Spring.  These pictures gave me something to look forward too.  Not to mention the clothes are stunning, the background is sunny and green, and anything featuring a big red balloon makes my list.

I'm really into vintage navajo jackets lately.  There is something about the prints and colors that are really appealing to me.  The colors are much brighter then I normally wear, however 

I managed to find a black, white and grey one that suits me perfectly!  

I'm feeling... lumberjack chic

There is something about winter in the northeast that makes me crave plaid.  It has literally become my uniform over the past weeks days and I'm considering starting a plaid-aholic facebook group. #jokes.  But, this week I have been especially into red tartan, very lumberjack esque much like this vintage mini thermos from Open Door Studio's shop on Etsy.

Thoughts? Have you also caught the plaid bug?

Sorry for the lack of posts lately I have been battling a cold since Thanksgiving... Literally, it will not go away.  Oh well, perhaps a plus of being sick is not feeling bad about sitting on the couch with my eyes glued to the computer screen for hours on end.   I have been planning out gift ideas for the special people in my life and found a perfect shop on Etsy for the person on your list who has everything...
