A Handmade Royal Wedding

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to wake up at 5 am to watch the Royal Wedding.  Are you?  I really do want to say that I saw it while it happened, I was too young to remember when Princess Diana was married.  Of course, I'm most interested in seeing her dress.  Hopefully it will be with out a 100 ft train, her style is much more simple and something I really admire about her.  Although I'm sure whatever dress she wears will be stunning.

shape shifter

Simple jewelry like dainty necklaces, tiny bracelets and vintage rings are apart of my everyday get-up. But, lately I've been obsessing over colorful geometric pieces.   Obviously, I'm into bright colors because of Spring- I honestly cannot get through one more day of 40 degree weather and constant rainfall.  As for geometric shapes, it probably has something to do with my recent obsession with architecture.  Here are a few different geometric pieces I've got me eye on.  Which one is your favorite?

LIM College Fashion Show.

Last week my school put on its annual fashion show produced completely by students (No lie, even the models were my classmates!).  The fashion show has been a yearly tradition at LIM since the year it opened in 1939.  This years show was the biggest yet with nearly 1200 in attendance.  A few of my very best friends were involved and I can't tell them enough how impressed I was by the show!
I had a fantastic time watching the show, got a delicious swag bag filled with Godiva chocolates and spent some much needed time with my friends.  Here are a few pictures I snapped through out the night. Enjoy!

sketch because you can.

There's something about fashion sketches that I find so gorgeous.  Perhaps it's because despite attending fashion schools for the last three years I have absolutely no talent in sketching models in clothing.  Or maybe it's because it's possible that I'm jealous that I don't have this awesome, awesome talent... Or even that I remember the fashion design students at FIDM spending hours and hours perfecting each sketch, truly an act of utter dedication.  But, maybe, just maybe it's because I find them stunning...

I would totally wear that last dress to my wedding!
