Style Guru Bio: Leigh King

Hi all! My name is Leigh King, and I am so happy to be joining the CollegeFashionista team. As a rising Senior (eek!) at LIM College in New York City, I call Manhattan my home. Before becoming a Style Guru I held a year long internship in the Web Department at Teen Vogue. During my time there I blogged up a storm, covered fashion week shows, raided the infamous beauty closet and most importantly learned that The Devil Wears Prada is not the normal fashion mentallity, even at a top magazine.
Ever since a close friend introduced me to the blogoshpere I have been hooked! I love the feelings of instant gratification and the connections you can build with readers through blogs. I started my own blog, Style Me Etsy three years ago and it has led me to great opportunites. I was even able to land a Styling and Visual Merchandising internship at Tory Burch with the help of my blog. I currently intern at Tory Burch and have excitedly set up the show room for Market Week, assisted on photo shoots, (even a very exciting one with The Man Repeller!) sifted through racks of gorgeous clothing and helped merchandise a new store. Whenever I have spare moment I always make sure to check out some of my favorite fashion blogs like The Glitter Guide, Man Repeller and Cupcakes and Cashmere. When my computer is not glued to lap, I love frolicking around the city with my friends and finding new exciting places to hang out. Of course, shopping is high on my priority list but, I always make time for walks along the East River with my tiny malti-poo Bear. So dear readers, here's me in a nutshell; I believe in glitter, retail therapy is real, there's no such thing as a bad hair day, chai tea latte's are a gift from the gods, blogging is my obsession, success is my goal and creating is my passion. I hope you'll follow me this semester as I set out on my adventure as a street style photographer and Style Guru extrordinaire.
